From Zero to Fluency

I'm a native English speaker from England and I am finding Daria's course is very thorough, professional, priced fairly and also fun. The fun part is important as feeling satisfied helps you retain motivation and the more motivated you are the more likely you will learn more as you confront each challenge in learning. Daria describes everything you need to learn and slowly introduces new knowledge step by step. I never feel rushed or that corners are being cut. I especially appreciated the effort Daria makes in paying attention to correct Russian language pronounciation and demonstrating this with mouth movements. I would recommend people know or partly know the Russian alphabet and can read Russian letters that form words (to a very basic level) before starting this course. You will find it easier if you do. In my opinion, the only barrier to success in learning any language is memory/word retention. If you can remember what you just learnt, there is no real barrier to success if you have an excellent teacher and Daria is indeed, excellent. I've tried other ways to try and learn Russian such as Rosetta Stone, Memrise and Russian Readers. From Zero to Fluency, however, is by far the best method for a beginner I have tried so far, as the format is like having a video call with a personal tutor. This was useful as I was visually seeing someone on my screen encourage and praise me (this helps challenge feelings of failure). I liked the fact there are little tests at the end of each 'chapter' so you can assess yourself if you are actually learning anything or not. In my opinion it's Daria's genuine enthusiasm and passion for teaching language which helps motivate you to learn and continue to learn Russian. I whole heartedly recommend this course and feel confident you will find it a unique tool to help learn Russian.

I did not start at point zero with the Russian language. I took the course because I wanted to know more about pronunciation, subjects like vowel reduction. Another very important point for me is that I can hear Russian language as often and whenever as I wish to - which is not possible in a conventional course at a language school.Every module starts with repetition, with a warm-up. The quiz afterwards are fun and at the same time a good control. I realize now the effect of the mini stories - really it makes the difference! I did not expect it. Thank you so much, I keep on going in part 2.

I never thought I will be able to learn Russian language but with Daria everything is easy and she is really professional in her field thanks a lot

When I was completely stuck I bought this course. I needed the explanations. Learning organically just didn't work. It is important to understand the scope of the course. Some grammer (quite a few of the cases) is not covered until part 2 and it seems there will be a part 3. That said, the vocabulary and grammar that is covered is repeated often enough. There are many 1+ hour videos which can be viewed in 15 sessions no problem. There are many real world examples, like pictures of actual ads with russian cursive. It is a great course - with many little nuggets - overall.

This course is very interactive and effective. I am amazed at how much I can learn through the lessons and how fun it is! Highly recommend! :)

Всем привет. Daria's amazing course is well made for people who know nothing all the way to people who are already familiar with the language. While I haven't finished the two courses, I however have used all the materials and have used nearly all of the interactive games, and I have to say that my knowledge has gone from absolutely zero knowledge to now be able to write Cyrillic in cursive and understand simple phrases without needing a translator or a dictionary. The idea behind this course is to take your time on each part until you feel comfortable with it and then you move to the next module. Consistency is key and when you take all that Daria has provided, this solidifies your core knowledge to a point where you lose the fear of interacting with other Russian speaking friends. I definitely recommend it because it does set you to truly become fluent. All that you need is consistency and you will become fluent all thanks to Daria's teaching methods.

I love everything! Honestly, I wish I had more time to spend on the course. It’s pretty hard to find time in my day to sit through a long lesson! But I’m trying my best. Huge progress with mini stories, the best method for me 100%! Love watching Russian movies in this course too. Overall 10/10

Daria has the right personality to be a teacher. As well as being very genuine, she has a good sense of humour. She speaks with life and not in a dull monotonous voice. She is very engaging so you will not get bored of listening to her. I am at the beginning of my course but my understanding of the cyrillic alphabet has improved vastly. I can already read a lot of Russian words. This is a well structured and well thought out course. Worth every penny. I sincerely mean those words.

I've looked at a lot of material, but this course gave me a SOLID foundation for learning Russian. Mini stories helped me with speaking too. Love this course and I'm in Level 2 now! Daria is an awesome teacher and thoroughly explains the grammar points with examples and stories.

Daria manages to make the course interesting, challenging and informative. Teaching you parts of Russian history and culture along the journey. Various aspects of the language and explained well and are subtly drilled into you. I can't find any faults and I feel my Russian has come on leaps and bounds, I cannot wait to start part 2. Daria is also available what feels like 24/7 for any questions you have
